Safeguarding & Children’s Services

Story-led films that raise awareness, spark
understanding and create real change

Our actor-led Talking Heads films help safeguarding teams communicate difficult topics with honesty, empathy and clarity. Whether you are raising awareness, supporting training or sharing stories informed by lived experience, we create narrative led content that connects with people and supports meaningful understanding. Our scripts are shaped by research, professional insight and collaboration with people who have lived experience.

Get in Touch

Films shaped for safeguarding professionals

Every script we create is informed by extensive research, professional insight and collaboration with people who have lived experience of safeguarding issues.

We then work with experienced actors to bring these stories to life in a safe, controlled and sensitive way.

The result is a powerful, honest portrayal that helps audiences understand complex issues while protecting those whose experiences inspired the work.

THE CHALLENGE: Safeguarding issues are complex, emotional and often hidden

CCE, CSE, coercive control and contextual safeguarding involve experiences that many people struggle to talk about openly. Survivors may not want to appear on camera or it may not be safe for them to do so.

That’s where actor-led storytelling becomes so effective, as it allows us to communicate truth without placing emotional burden or exposure on the people whose experiences inform the work.

WHY THIS STYLE WORKS

Why Talking-Head storytelling is so effective in safeguarding

This style strikes the perfect balance between authenticity and protection. Because actors can portray emotions clearly and directly to camera, the audience gets a meaningful emotional connection without placing survivors at risk.

Our films work because they are:

  • Authentic – grounded in real stories and professional insight

  • Emotionally impactful – performances capture nuance, fear, confusion and humanity

  • Ethically safe – no survivor is required to disclose or be filmed

  • Clear and accessible – easy to understand, suitable for all training levels

  • Flexible – ideal for awareness work, staff training and PSHE

  • Cost-effective – powerful content without complex production needs

Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE)

This film is a curated showreel of Talking Heads performances that explore the emotional and relational complexities of Child Sexual Exploitation. The clips are taken from a series of scripted monologues shaped by real stories and lived-experience insight.

The performances cover themes such as secrecy, blurred boundaries, misplaced loyalty, manipulation and the difficulty many young people face in recognising abuse or disclosing what has happened to them. The films featured have been used for staff training, PSHE sessions and wider awareness work.

Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE)

This film is a short showcase of our actor-led Talking Heads work focused on Child Criminal Exploitation. It brings together a series of scripted monologues, each performed straight to camera, highlighting key themes such as grooming, fear, control, emotional vulnerability and county lines.

Each monologue is based on careful research and collaboration with professionals and people with lived experience, allowing us to portray the reality of exploitation in a safe and ethical way. The films featured have been used for awareness campaigns, staff training and community engagement.

SUPPORTING SAFER OUTCOMES

These stories highlight the realities of CSE, CCE and exploitation, but they also guide young people, families and professionals toward safer choices. Each film helps audiences recognise red flags earlier, understand where to get support and feel more confident speaking up or asking for help.

Our focus isn’t just awareness. It’s clarity, reassurance and practical steps that lead to safer outcomes.

Each film guides viewers toward safer outcomes by showing:

• how grooming, manipulation and control can be recognised earlier
• how young people can spot red flags and trust their instincts
• where they can go for support, locally and online
• how parents and carers can respond calmly and constructively
• how professionals can open conversations that make a real difference
